    Article Summary

    1. General Remarks

This release introduces beta support for Debian operating systems running on ARM64 architectures. The release also includes improvements to PDF manage rates and we've resolved some previously documented issues within the GWCLI.

    2. Component / Services Released

    • Glasswall Embedded Engine (Glasswall_core2): v2.720.1
    • Word Search And Redact (libglasswall.word.search): v1.120.0
    • Archive Manager (libglasswall.archive.manager): v1.22.0
    • Glasswall Command Line Tool (gwcli): v2.86.1
    • SDK Editor Wrappers: 20230922.6

    3. New Features

    • ARM64 beta support for the following SDK projects:
      • Editor
      • GWCLI
      • SDK Language wrappers

ARM64 support for the remaining SDK projects (Word Search and Archive Manager) and ARM64 support for other operating systems (Alpine and Windows) will be made available in future releases.

    4. Fixes and Improvements

    • Fixed issue that led to an exception being thrown where an invalid file path was passed to GW2RegisterAnalysisFile.
    • Fixed issue where an 'unable to determine file type' message was returned instead of 'process mode 4 or 5 is not supported' when attempting to export an archive using the GWCLI ini file (process mode 4).
    • Further improvements to release memory back to OS after each session within a process.
    • Fixed issue that led to a rendering error 'namespace prefix inkscape for version on svg is not defined' affecting some reconstructed SVG files.
    • Fixed issue in GWCLI where default policy was used instead of returning an error, where an invalid path was provided via the -c argument.
    • Fixed issue that caused some PDF files to fail with the error 'Unspecifed JPX stream marker'
    • Fixed issue that caused some PDF files to fail with the error 'expected an OBJECT REFERENCE or NUMERIC type. Found malformed numeric '-...'
    • Fixed issue in PDF that led to some files with 'All Actions' content not being reconstructed.
    • Fixed issue in Word Search check version logic that led to an exception.
    • Fixed issue in the GWCLI summary report that led to missing information inside the 'AdditionalInformation' element.
    • Fixed issue in the GWCLI where files with extensions '.xml' and '.log' were not handled correctly when using the skipUnsupportedFile option.

    5. Defects and Limitations

    • The JavaScript wrapper is currently excluded from the release package. This will be reintroduced in a subsequent release.
    • Archive Manager and Word Search Java wrapper compatibility is currently limited to JRE8.
    • PDFs generated via the MS Outlook Adobe plugin are not supported.
    • Word Search analysis XML no longer reports structural content or changes.
    • Processing times may be impacted by changes made to licensing functionality.
    • Processing files using multiple threads is not supported. Spawning multiple processes is advised in order to facilitate parallel processing.
