    Article Summary

Why didn't my file get processed?

There are several reasons why a file may not be processed by Clean Room:

    • The file is too large (>100 MB)
    • The file is too complex
    • The file is broken
    • It's a file type we don't currently support (see Supported File Types).
Does Clean Room have any limitations?

Clean Room has the following limitations:

    • The default file size limit is 100 MB, however it can be configurable up to 1 GB
    • A maximum of 100 files can be processed at a time
Will I still need to use a regular antivirus?

Yes, it is recommended that you always have an active antivirus program running on your machine because malicious content can enter via various other avenues.

    How does Clean Room work?

When a file is received by Clean Room, it's manufacturer's specifications are used to validate the content and rebuild the file using Glasswall's CDR technology. This ensures that the data structures within the file only include their 'known good' specifications, so that malware and threats are removed.

Will my file's contents be affected?

Clean Room deconstructs and rebuilds certain elements within a file's structures and layers, so your visual content will not be affected. The processed file is checked against its manufacturers 'known good' standards, and will be rebuilt exactly as it was but without possible threats.

What happens to my uploaded file and its contents?

Your uploaded file is first analyzed by our CDR technology, and then quickly deleted.

The cleaned and rebuilt file is made available to you for download, and then deleted by us shortly afterwards.

Glasswall will not store any of your file or its contents.
